For our semester-long Capstone Business Plan, my team and I developed a sub-brand of Target called Alpha Edge. We were challenged to create a new product line that will fill a market gap and enhance the in-store experience. Alpha Edge is an educational clothing brand designed specifically for girls, offering a unique blend of fashion and learning. By broadening Target's reach and embracing the growing trend of experiential retail, Alpha Edge aims to empower and inspire its young consumers.

Capstone Mock Website

One part of my capstone project involved creating a mock website that accurately represented Alpha Edge. I was responsible for designing the site, paying close attention to detail, and organizing it to ensure easy navigation for customers.

When developing Alpha Edge, our team made it a priority to fully immerse ourselves in understanding our target market, Gen Alpha. Using Canva, I created these mood boards as a source of inspiration throughout the project, and they became a key reference point for our design decisions.

We wanted our customers' opinions to be the foundation of our brand, so I designed a customer survey on Canva to add to an email thread to allow them to share their thoughts and ideas directly with us. Our goal was to ensure that our brand continually evolves and stays relevant to Gen Alpha. In addition, I created graphics on Canva highlighting our short-term and long-term goals, serving as a guide to keep us focused on achieving success while providing clear objectives to work towards.

For my final project in my Softgoods Brand Management and Promotion course, I was instructed to choose an existing brand that I think is in need of a rebranding; a brand that has the potential of becoming stronger if it had an improved image; a brand that is struggling or needs to grow into a new phase.

I applied the skills I have gained through my digital marketing course to develop various marketing campaigns for SKIMS. I chose to focus on SKIMS because the brand's innovative design, size and shade inclusivity, strong branding, and high-quality materials stands out to me. SKIMS offers a versatile and comfortable assortment that caters to a diverse range of body types.

Digital Marketing Strategies Group Project

For my Digital Marketing Strategies for Fashion course, my group and I collaborated to research Alo Yoga marketing. We did a deep dive into Alo as a brand and its competitors. The presentation includes our business concept, customer persona, market overview, SWOT analysis, and social media marketing strategies.

This is market analysis is part of the first of three group projects we completed during our Retail Entrepreneurship course. The presentation covers our business concept, market overview, proposed media strategies, and the integration of influencers within our company.

Part 2 of 3

For our semester-long project, we set out to create a brand focused on sustainable clothing. My group and I development HuMAN, targeting men aged 18-45, with Brooks Bothers and J. Crew as our main competitors. We presented this concept to our classmates, setting the stage for a more in-depth third and final presentation.

The final presentation showcases HuMAN, the sustainable menswear company my group and I built from the ground up. Through this project, I gained valuable insights into the importance of sustainability in apparel, learned how to craft a mission statement, create a budget plan, and develop a promotional strategy. Being part of this rewarding process has equipped me with skills I am excited to apply in future endeavors.

Omni-channel Retailing

Throughout our Omni-channel Retailing in the Digital World course, my group and I took on the challenge of encouraging Aerie to embrace a more gender-neutral approach. The project prompt asked us to identify something we wanted to see change in the fashion industry, focusing on a specific company. We chose Aerie, a brand traditionally geared toward women, to explore how it could evolve into a more inclusive environment for all.

Virtual Exhibit: 1967-1973

During my History of Western Dress Writing Intensive course, I had the opportunity to create a virtual historic exhibit that weaves together fashion and the history of a particular era. This exhibit is crafted to showcase the rich material culture and visual artifacts of the time, paired with insightful written content that ties each piece to the skirt debate in women's fashion. My goal with this project was to bring the past to life in a refreshing and unique way.

Dress Practices in Film

For the final project in my Social Appearance in Space and Time writing intensive course, I analyzed the dress practices in the 2021 film He's All That. I explored how clothing choices influenced character development and highlighted the stereotypes portrayed in the movie.
